Calibrated thermometers are used where precise temperature measurements are of critical importance. They are recommended to verify and calibrate the instruments routinely used in the laboratory including liquid-in-glass, digital electronic, and bimetal thermometers. |
 |
These thermometers, whether calibrated at NIST or at ERTCO, are carefully inspected to insure that they confirm to the exacting requirements outlined for precision thermometers in NIST Monograph 250-23. |
Each thermometer is furnished with a calibration document showing corrections at relevant points on the scale. The Factory Calibrated thermometers are compared with NIST Standards and the documents furnishd are traceable to the NIST. All temperatures correspond to the new values of ITS-90. |
Each thermometer is packed in a felt-lined leatherette case for safe storage. A booklet accompanies each one with helpful hints on how to properly use it. |
The Standard Reference thermometers were designed by the NIST as Primary Standards for the biomedical and pharmaceutical laboratories. They are fully described in NCCLS Document 12-A2 Vol 10 No.3, the Approved Standard for Temperature Calibration of Water Baths, Instruments, and Temperature Sensors. |
